5 stars, i bought this GR-5B in Aug. 2019, it has worked flawlessly ever since. Key to good waffles, set control to Griddle, set Temp. to 375F, let it 'preheat' for at least 10 mins. Set Time to 59 mins, start making waffles, using a full 1/4 cup (for thin waffle) or 1/3 cup (for thick waffle) scoop of batter in each section (four sections, four scoops), let cook 3 mins. Open waffle iron and flip waffles, cook another 1-2 mins. They will come out perfect if you also get all your waffle ingredients here, especially the beet based "pearl sugar" and make your batter the day before and let it rest in fridge overnight, this is what the pro shops and trucks do in Belgium and Europe to get killer waffles. Get a waffle fork also, easy to flip!

Karen Slavkovsky I thought I would love this waffle iron but it does not bake evenly at all. The waffles in the back are under cooked and the ones in front, over cooked. This is the same for Liege Waffles and regular waffles. To compensate I start 2 waffles in the back row and turn them over to the front row for the last 2 minutes of baking. Of course this defeats the purpose of a "4 waffle" iron, takes twice as long, and risks damage to waffles in the turning process, but they still taste delicious! My 20.00 waffle iron did a much better job until I broke the handle squeezing the stiff Liege dough. For the money, I expected a much better product from Cuisinart. Very disappointed!!!
@Karen, We are sorry that the product is not working for you as expected. The Cusinart griddle waffle maker works great for home use, but is not recommended for high volume commercial or business applications. Only our commercial grade cast iron waffle makers come with integrated heat distribution plates. The heat distribution plates assure that the heat created by the heating elements is evenly redistributed throughout the entire waffle maker. This technology is unfortunately not available in retail or home-use waffle makers.

I bought a cheap iron for liege waffles, with abysmal results. Temperature "control" on inexpensive machines is a misnomer. So I hacked it with an industrial temperature controller. I purchased this machine thinking that I needed to check my results. My retrofitted iron blows this out of the water. However, if you do not possess the means or wrong-headedness to rebuild a waffle maker from scratch, this iron seems to do as well as possible sans spending the big bucks. Temperature control was excellent, though much less powerful than my iron, likely because it relies on radiating the heat to the iron plates rather than direct conduction. The slower bake could affect the moisture level of the waffle, though results were good for me. I dislike the plate design for this machine, the holes are shallow, and the walls of the waffle are thick, giving a bit too much dough-to-wonderful-caramelization-surface-area ratio. Great consumer level iron, but not the result I was looking for.

The Griller/Waffle maker is wonderful. Best waffles ever, and with the versatility of the griller it has great value in the kitchen.

This Griddle/Waffle maker is absolutely the best! Superior waffles, and the Griller part makes it versatile for so many other meals. It was packed with care, and was delivered faster than expected. Great value all around.
